We have 1 billion people using the internet in the year 2009. Analysts forecast that this number will be double by 2015. The way we have done advertising has changed and will continue changing.

Difference between Outbound and Inbound Marketing

While writing this I received a call from MTN doing a survey and offering me a new contract. There is nothing as upsetting getting a call from someone while you are busy and you really do not need the product they are trying to push down on you. It is a prime example of Outbound marketing.

Outbound marketing is when marketing is done without your permission. Outbound marketing interrupts people. Examples of outbound marketing will include pamphlets, direct mail, telemarketing (the worst!), TV & radio ads and trade shows.

Value of Online Internet MarketingInbound marketing is done with the users permission. Inbound marketing on the internet can be used to market your products & services by means of using SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), Blogging, Social Media and Social Networking, RSS feeds, making free tools and trails available, and public relations.

We build websites with the inbound marketing model in mind. We include all the Web 2.0 features as standard in our CMS (Content Manageable System) Website package. Our standard packages have Web 2.0 features that would include the ability to easily share information with an icon site visitors can click to “send info to a friend”, “print a PDF” or print the information to their printer. We also include the leading Wordpress Blog with RSS feeds and can activate links to social networking with the flick of a button.
