In the past people designed websites and added content. We now “design” the content first, and design the website around the content. Example - In the past the default landing/home page would be something like “about us”, today we give the site visitor the information they would need most first. So if you sell shoes online, make it possible for site visitors to see the shoes immediately - oppose to first giving them an introduction page, followed by a super boring "about us" us. People are not interested in your mission and vision, they want to buy shoes. You can still have those pages on your site, but in the background in a sub or subtle menu.

We also work with professional design companies and create custom templates from the details we get. We prefer to receive any designs in Adobe Photoshop PSD format. As a word of caution, there are thousands of design companies out there - and most of them only know how to design FLASH sites. FLASH is not recommend for any site that will be used as a marketing tool as it does not support Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Adobe said in a press release that the new version is more SEO friendly. We'd say about 10% more than what it was. HTML is still best. Think of FLASH as a movie, Google doesnt watch movies, it indexes text.

Another vital topic to keep in mind while designing a website, is to carefully plan the navigation of the site. We draw up mind maps of how site visitors will go about the site. It must be easy and the information they look for most must be clearly available.
